Jonathan Brown

Jonathan attended Salt Lake Community College where he drew for the campus Horizon until he landed a cartooning job at the Davis County Clipper in Bountiful, Utah. "It was a virtual journalism school!" says Brown of his five years at the Clipper, "Out of that small staff came some of the state's leading journalists."

In 1997 Jonathan Brown became one of a handful of free-lance editorial cartoonists vying for a permanent spot at the Deseret News in Salt Lake City. A year later, he had risen to the top of the competition and earned his current spot as Deseret News Editorial Cartoonist.

Brown has earned numerous awards including most recently, first place in the 2001 Utah Idaho Spokane Associated Press Association Award for Excellence in Editorial Cartooning.
